Although flowers and leaves are about to bloom, it's bakery season at your favorite grocery warehouse chain. There's another pastry back at Costco — the Raspberry Crumble Cookies!
Like the Cinnamon-Pull-Apart, the Raspberry Crumble Cookies are here again after a brief hiatus since last fall. Costco Instagram account @costcobuys spotted them in the bakery recently, and fans are understandingly excited for what one called "grown-up Poptarts" — especially since a pack of 12 is $8.99. The pastry is made of a shortbread cookie with a light layer of raspberry jam inside. It's topped off with powdered sugar. @Costcobuys suggests freezing them and then putting them in the oven at 275 degrees for about 15 minutes, and fans in the comments agree that it's a great way to enjoy them. Others simply don't want to wait. "I don't even freeze them…we eat them all up within a few days," one says. Another said her husband ate six in one day, and someone else says they like it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
We certainly don't recommend eating half the package of the Costco Raspberry Crumble Cookies or adding anything. While it sounds like a great fruity treat, one cookie has 320 calories, 17 grams of fat, 40 grams of carbs, and 21 grams of sugar, according to Mashed. And all that sugar can lead to some pretty risky side effects.
Since this is the second beloved Costco bakery treat to come back recently, it has us wondering if any others will…maybe the carrot cake will be next? In the meantime, here's the bakery deal everyone's talking about right now.
