It takes 21 days to establish a habit, but Brad A. Johnson thinks that four is enough to get hooked on the cookies from bakery Paderia’s new Irvine outpost.

Brad also ordered banana pudding and Filipino brioche buns from the bakery, but it was the cookies he couldn’t put down. Read more.

Old school Taco Tuesday

Indoor dining returns

Orange County restaurants have been rolling with easing and tightening restrictions for a year. They eagerly greeted the news that they could begin serving people indoors again on Sunday. Meanwhile, breweries and wineries were excited that they could serve people outdoors without requiring a food purchase. Read more.

Beer and brats

The owners of Rad Brat in Dana Point will open a new brewery this spring in Anaheim dubbed Rad Beer. The new brewery space will serve food from Rad Brat before later transitioning into having its own restaurant. Anne Valdespino has more. Read more.

Hot potato, hot potato 

Good news if you’ve been having spicy potato soft taco withdrawals during the pandemic: Taco Bell has brought potatoes back to its menu, but it’s not the only fast food chain dealing in potatoes. Miguel’s Jr. recently introduced potato taquitos. Read more.
