Business owners and professionals interested in expanding their professional circles are invited to participate in the Highland Lakes Breakfast Club. Members meet for breakfast and networking at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday mornings at Julie’s Cocina, 4319 FM 2147 West in Cottonwood Shores.
The group was founded in January 2021 by Jennifer Kindred, owner of Kindred Financial Services in Marble Falls. She and eight other business people wanted to create a welcoming environment for professionals to create strong networks for business referrals, Kindred explained.
Since the beginning of the year, membership has grown to include 38 businesses.
“We’ve all become good friends,” Kindred said.
The weekly meetings provide time for members to socialize while sharing business strategies and ideas with one another. Beginning in June, one member will give a 10-minute presentation highlighting the ins and outs of their business during each meeting, Kindred said.
Non-members are invited to attend meetings to get a feel for the group. New member applications are available at each meeting.
Because the group limits participation to one member per trade, 10 potential members are on a waiting list. Once there are 15, Kindred plans to start another group called the Highland Lakes Supper Club, which will meet on Tuesday evenings.
The group recently hosted a free, open-to-the-public event that drew more than 75 attendees. Kindred plans to continue socials in the future.
